You can also correct RAW images taken with the compatible lens even when the extender is attached. The aberration correction function is not available for images shot with combinations of camera/lens other than those given under "Compatible Cameras" and "Compatible Lenses". There is some quality loss with the 1.4X extender but it is very acceptable as a lens combo. These were shot earlier today with the EF 200-400 f4 extender lens and EOS 1DX Mark III body; the first image is at 400 f4 and the second at 560 f5.6 with the extender engaged. Both are heavily cropped.
A teleconverter is typically attached to the camera first, then the lens is attached to the end of the teleconverter.
