We've had a chance to handle Canon's EOS 5D Mark III 22MP HD DSLR and have prepared a detailed preview and video. The specifications may initially look a little familiar but almost every component has been updated or improved. It gains most of its ergonomics from the EOS 7D but inherits the sophisticated 61-point AF system from the EOS-1D X. It also comes with a range of movie-focused features
Shot-to-shot cycle times in the Canon 5D Mark III's single-shot mode were very good, ranging between 0.27 and 0.29 second for JPEGs and/or RAW files.
Both image quality and dynamic range, particularly in the shadows, have improved over the predecessor. The 30.4-megapixel sensor found in this camera is one of Canon’s finest, outside of the 1DX lineup. No questions, image sharpness, color rendition, and dynamic range are still unwavering strengths of this camera.
Set the 5D Mk IV to P mode. Set ISO to 200. Use One shot and just the center focus point, not Ai-servo, and make sure the lens is on AF. Set WB to daylight. Now go outside on a nice day and do several shots of general subjects. Make sure some have god vertical lines like a fence or trees or buildings, etc. For some reason my ISO is always running higher than theirs when the shutter speed and aperture is the same. I know there's a lot of variables so this morning I got out my 7D (original), 5D Mark III and 5D Mark IV. The lighting was the same - I mounted the Canon 70-200 f2.8 III lens on each camera, set at 200mm.
