If the EGR does not close when powering you are using spent exhaust gas with the oxygen burnt away, mixed with the fuel to try and give max power.

I want to share my experience with fiat ducato. We have bought 7 ducato vans 2.3jtd during 2008. We must say that we are very happy with their power and space. However, almost all of them had problems. 5 of the vans changed their brakes in less than 20000 km. 2 gearbox problems. 3 changed clutch cyliders. I have been reading reports that incidents of juddering have occured when reversing motorhomes using a 2.3 Ducato engine. No juddering, but it is not happy reversing uphill when fully loaded, the reverse gear is still higher than it should be, I just increase the revs , but the clutch complains, would have loved a Comfortmatic to ease the problem.
2. Location. Port Elizabeth. Feb 9, 2022. #1. Have rebuilt the engine. Van won't start. Only once I blanked off the fuel return line back to tank did it start and idle beautifully. With open fuel line to tank it won't start.
